Work Overview

After the operator selects Load and Run, they are presented with the work overview. This view displays a list of loaded work items, providing an overview of the tasks queued for execution. It serves as the central hub for managing and organizing work before the robot begins operation.

Understanding Work Packages and Work Items

A work package contains the pre-programmed instructions for a specific task. These instructions are typically created using our Fusion360 plugin on a computer, where drawings and other tools define the robot's movements and actions on a piece of stock material. Think of it as the "blueprint" for the job. It defines what needs to be done.

A work item, on the other hand, instantiates and prepares a work package for execution in the real world. It takes the work package and adapts it to the current environment and available resources. It defines how and where the what gets done. The work item is the live instance of the work package, ready for the robot to execute.

The Items area presents a list of all loaded work items. Each item in the list represents a specific instance of a work package, prepared and adapted for execution in the robot's environment.

The Items area provides several buttons for managing the list of loaded work items. Select one or more items and use the buttons to:

  • Move items up or down the execution order
  • Copy or delete items
  • Group items and open/close groups or workflows.

Adding Work Items

The Add Items area allows operators to load work packages and create new work items. This process, as described here, involves loading or creating a work package and performing the necessary pre-processing steps to adapt it to the current environment, resulting in a new work item.

Running Work Items

The Run Items area allows the operator to initiate the execution of the work items. The robot will process the work items in the order they appear in the list. Operators should ensure the work item order is correct before pressing Run. More details are described here
